Tastly Milk and Honey
Milk and honey together symbolize having all one needs to be comfortable in the world. This is a particularly soothing and comforting beverage.
Ingredients
1 quart milk
1 tablespoon honey
4 cardamom pods
4 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
Combine spices, milk and honey in a saucepan. Heat gently for 10 minutes (do not boil), stirring all the while. Strain and serve hot.
Notes:
This is marvelous before bedtime after a long hard day playing in the snow. It warms the heart and soul, as well as the body and casts a sleepy spell. It's marvelous for topping off the Imbolc festivities just before sending the little ones off to dreamland. Its energies promote familial love, strong bonds and a feeling of being nurtured and loved.
